Happy first blog post of February, a month of love. Love can be shown in many ways and comes in many different forms, but one of the most important forms of love, is self-love. Self-love is so important because when you love yourself, you hold yourself in a higher esteem, you motivate yourself to be the best version of yourself, and it helps you make the best decisions for yourself. Another reason it is important to love yourself is you cannot love someone else until you can love yourself first. Without love (of any kind) in your life, it is easy to think negative thoughts that will overpower any possible positive thoughts. This can lead to a life of possible suffering.
Unfortunately, self-love can come as a challenge for a lot of people. Whether that be from social media, self doubt, ect..., it is not always an easy task to develop self-love or regain self-love. Today we will be giving you 4 simple routines that can aid you in regaining or developing self-love. You can try each of these out for a little while and see which ones work for you.
4 SIMPLE ROUTINES TO REGAIN OR DEVELOP SELF LOVE
Write positive messages on your mirror and say it to yourself every time you see your mirror: There is something about the mind that makes this routine one of the most beneficial ones: your mind follows what is familiar. When your mind is hearing the negative thoughts more than the positive thoughts about yourself, your mind will follow the negative even if you wish it wouldn't. Writing positive and uplifting messages on your mirror will help defeat the negative thoughts and with time, your minds familiar will become those positive messages on the mirror. Positive thoughts will develop and regain self-love.
Make yourself an uplifting message jar. Pull one out each morning and then put a new one in: This follows a similar rule of the mind as before: your mind follows what is familiar. But this also follows the idea that when you write something down over and over, it sticks in your mind. Reading an uplifting message and writing a new message down daily will help these positive thoughts to stick in your mind. They will become familiar to your mind and therefore gaining that positive outlook on yourself and self-love.
Self-love journaling daily: Self-love journaling is a form of journaling where your entries revolve around topics that will allow you to appreciate yourself and gain self-love. An example of a prompt would be "something I am proud of myself for today". This follows the same ideas that gratitude journaling does: when you write it down, you start to see it more in your life. Move your body (yoga, walking, swimming, dancing, ect...): When you move your body, your mind focuses on moving, rather than those negative thoughts. Movement of the body also triggers the happy hormones and makes you a happier human. The more "happy hormones" in your body, the more positive thoughts you will think. This can change your thoughts about yourself into a positive and uplifting outlook which transfers into self-love.
