FOOD FRIDAY: SUMMER FLOWER SOUP

HAPPY FOOD FRIDAY! Here is a recipe for a flower soup to try out.

INGREDIENTS(serves 4)

-2 cups of water

-2 inch piece of turmeric

-1 small onion

-3 carrots

-2 mild banana peppers

-1 small bunch of dandelion greens(3/4 cup chopped)

-6 pieces of Italian parsley(1/2 cup chopped)

-1 head of bok choy

-1 tbs of fresh marjoram

-5 crushed kaffir lime leaves

-1 tsp of salt

-5 dried hibiscus flowers

-1/2 can of coconut milk

-1 cup of white flowers

-2 tbs of apple cider vinegar

-3 tsp of monk fruit sugar


STEPS

  1. Get a large pot to boil everything in on the stove

  2. Cut up all your veggies and flowers to the size you desire

  3. Pour all the ingredients inside the pot

  4. Boil on medium until everything looks softened

  5. Take off the stove and enjoy

HEALTH BENEFITS

Because of all the amazing ingredients in this soup, many studies have found that some of these ingredients can help with certain health issues. There are many health benefits from these that include, better hormonal health from the marjoram, reduced inflammation from the turmeric and bok choy, and lowers the risk of heart disease from the bok choy as well. It also has a minerals like iron, calcium and magnesium from the dandelion greens.
