I'm sure you have heard of compliment jars that are full of compliments for other people that are given to their friends and families as gifts but lets talk about having a compliment jar for yourself.
What is a compliment jars: Compliment jars are jars full of compliments and kind things to keep people going when they are having a rough day or just need a "pick me up". Instead of making these just as gifts for other people, you should also make one for yourself.
Here is how to do it: Find a container or a jar that is empty for you to use. You can decorate it if you like but put it somewhere you can see it easily and be able to use it often. How to start is to write things that are awesome about you, compliments you have been given, or things you love about yourself on small, individual pieces of paper. Then roll up the pieces of paper and stick them in the jar! Then to keep the jar going, every time you do something awesome or someone gives you a compliment that day, write it down and stick it in the jar. Whenever you are feeling down or lacking some self confidence, pull a paper out of the jar and remind yourself of why you are amazing.
Why should we do this: By writing down these awesome qualities about you or things you have done, you will start to see physical proof of why you are amazing and it will become more believable in your mind. As a majority of society, we are raised to not "show-off" ourselves due to the idea of being judged or coming off as self absorbed. Most people will practice this idea of not celebrating or acknowledging your own awesomeness so much that it causes an extreme lack of self-confidence. This is why, by making a compliment jar, you can increase your self-confidence, self-love, and remind yourself of why you are amazing.
SIDE NOTE: if you don't feel like making a jar you can also make yourself a list of reasons why you are awesome and you can add to that list every time someone compliments you or you do something amazing.
