FOOD FRIDAY: HEART BEET DETOX JUICE

Happy FOOD FRIDAY! It is the first FOOD FRIDAY of February 2022! How crazy! In case you missed it, this month we are focusing on cleansing and love. The word February comes from the Latin root, "februa" which means "to cleanse". February is also known for being the month of love. So, we have decided to create a focus on cleansing and love for the month.

Today's FOOD FRIDAY will be a HEART BEET DETOX JUICE. Detoxing the body helps to cleanse out the toxins and unnecessary item in the body. This juice is simple to make and taste delicious. You can enjoy it as a snack or have it as a drink with your meals. It is also vegan, gluten-free, and nut free, so everyone can enjoy this HEART BEET DETOX JUICE. HEART BEET DETOX JUICE


SERVES: 2 people (about 2 cups)

TIMES: 5 minutes


INGREDIENTS -2 beets

-3 large carrots

-one 2 inch piece of ginger (or more if you would like more flavor)

-1 green apple

-1/2 of a lemon


ITEMS NEEDED

-You will need a juicer or a blender to make this juice. We have provided to different "step" sections: one for making it with a juicer and a second for making it with a blender.


OPTION ONE-WITH A JUICER

  1. Cut up all your ingredients so that they are small enough to fit into your juicer.

  2. Then, juice the ingredients. (The order of it doesn't affect the juice)

  3. Pour yourself a cup and enjoy! (It will stay good for up to a week in the fridge)

OPTION TWO-WITH A BLENDER

  1. Cut up all your ingredients so that they are small enough for your blender to handle.

  2. Blend all the ingredients together until there is little to no chunks left.

  3. Grab a large bowl and place it in the sink (or a place to catch liquids)

  4. Using a cheese cloth or a nut bag, pour your blended ingredients into the cloth over the sink to catch the juice. (A strainer will work but the texture will more smoothie like rather than juice)

  5. Squeeze the cloth over the bowl to extract the juice from the blended ingredients. (This process is similar to making almond milk for those that are familiar with that)

  6. Then take your bowl of squeezed juice, pour it into a cup and enjoy. (It will stay good for up to a week in the fridge)
