MAKING HOMEMADE PAINTS WITH SPICES

Painting is so good for your mind and your mental health. Unfortunately, the common paints you buy from the store usually are manufactured with CO2 that was released into the air which is very bad for the environment and it increases our air pollution. Instead of using these toxic paints all the time, you can try to make your own paints with items you probably already have at home! It's fun, easy, better for the planet AND better for the air that we all breathe. So, here is a basic starting guide for homemade paints with spices that you probably have at home.

  1. Turmeric- yellowish-orange paint

  2. Cinnamon- brown paint

  3. Ground thyme- light green paint

  4. Paprika- orange paint

  5. Coffee- deep brown paint

  6. Blue spirulina- blue paint

  7. Saffron- red paint

  8. Garlic- tan

STEPS

  1. Pour the spice on a glass or plastic sheet

  2. Add almond oil or walnut oil to the spice

  3. Mix well until the texture becomes smooth

  4. Store the mixture in a tight sealed container

  5. Get creative and start painting!

You can BE creative making these homemade paints and BE creative using them! The more that those toxic paints are not bought from the companies the less those companies will produce those harmful paints. So, we hope you enjoy making these homemade paints from spices and that you try them out as soon as you can!
