5 TOP NATIONAL PARKS TO VISIT IN THE FALL

Nature is always changing with the seasons, so when you go to visit places in nature it's important to take in consideration what time is best to visit your destination. For example, if you go to a place known for its waterfalls but during a drought season, the waterfalls might underwhelming or not even have running water. Today, we are going to help you out a bit by telling you a few national parks that are amazing to visit in the fall.

1. Badlands National Park- In the fall the animals are everywhere. You can see herds of buffalo wandering the roads, tiny prairie dogs running along the dry lands, giant birds swooping over the lands, and more. Not only is this place full of animal activity in the fall but it also cools down a lot. In the summer Badlands is extremely hot and full of tourist but in the fall both, temperatures and tourist, will be mild, making it a perfect time to visit.

In the fall, the weather cools off just enough that you can take the longer hikes to go see those amazing lakes so it's a perfect time visit. 3. Zion National Park- Zion national park is known for rock climbing, narrows, and the colors. When the season changes to fall the park blooms with beautiful colors. The red canyons stand along the yellow leaves of the trees and small forest green bushes. In the fall, the weather will cool off to around 65 F, making it a perfect hiking temperature. In the summer it is too hot for hiking and in the winter it is too cold, and to add to that, in the spring the area is known for flash floods. If you do go, it is recommended to wear dry pants or a dry suit.

4. Big Bend National Park- This park is on the very edge of Texas, bordering Mexico. With it being so far south, it is very hot in the summer, so going in the fall is a perfect time because the weather cools down enough to enjoy the outdoors. Another things that is amazing in the fall here, is the animals. There are many snakes to see (some are very dangerous so be careful) and you also can see tons of tarantulas walking around because in the fall they are breeding. A bonus to going in the fall is the milky way here is super visible during this time.

5. Denali National Park- This park is located in Alaska. Obviously, with Alaska being so north, it gets really cold, so fall is a time that is not too cold but you're still able to see snow on the mountain caps and sometimes around the ground. Another bonus to going to this park in the fall is the aurora borealis or northern lights are finally visible to see without being too cold while watching them. Side note: if you want to see wildlife, you should go early in the day.
