Happy holidays! We are half way through the last month of the year. How crazy! As we discussed in our last post, this is time of gifts and giving. Since we gave you an idea of gifts in our last post: MEANINGFUL GIFTS TO GIVE TO YOUR FRIENDS THIS YEAR AS A TEEN WITH LITTLE TO NO MONEY, we thought it would be good to do a post on eco-friendly wrapping ideas. Wrapping paper and gift giving can be so wasteful and not friendly to our earth, but there are ways that you can change that this year! Today we will be giving a list of ideas that you can use this year to make your holidays more eco-friendly and waste free. If you use one of these ideas, tag us in photo with @beeramagazine on your Instagram story for a feature on our story!
6 IDEAS FOR ECO-FRIENDLY WRAPPING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Use your old wrapping papers: Every year, you usually have leftover wrapping papers. Don't go out and buy new wrapping paper if you have leftover, just use it all up. Once you use it all up, you can switch to something that is more eco-friendly instead of buying a new roll.
Re-use old gift bags from previous years: Gift bags are re-usable which is why they are a great eco-friendly alternative for someone who already has old gift bags.
Use old newspapers: If you are someone who gets newspapers every week, you can gather these and wrap your gifts with them. This way, you are recycling that old paper that you are no longer reading or using.
Scarfs: Have an old scarf you want to give away? This is a perfect way to do it. You can also thrift old scarfs to wrap all your gifts with as well. This eco-friendly way is a combo too because they can wear the scarf and get a gift.
Re-useable bags: This can be tote bags, grocery bags, ect.. It is a great way to give someone a gift and a bonus of a re-useable bag that they can use instead of plastic bags. This way not only are you being eco-friendly, you are also giving them a way to be eco-friendly!
Mesh bags or milk bags: This is also one of the bonus ones because they get a gift from the wrapping and the inside! You can buy these, thrift these, ect... This would be perfect for a smaller gift that can be put into a little mesh bag!
These are only 6 simples ways, but you probably can come up with a few more ways to make your wrapping more eco-friendly this year. If you have any suggestions to add to this list, you can reach out to us on Instagram @beeramagazine or in our CONNECT section of our website.
DAILY REMINDER: Celebrate your uniqueness! You are unique for a reason. You are not meant to blend in with the crowd but you ARE meant to stand out. So celebrate your uniqueness.
